Behind the Camera
Below you will find the feed for the Downtown Austin Alliance Instagram. As the staff photographer, videographer, and content creator, most all of these posts are mine and the out of house posts I have collaborated with partners or led the charge on.
Photography has long been a interest of mine. Until I moved to Austin, I did not have the equipment to truly explore my passion. The Downtown Austin Alliance gave me the opportunity to start shooting with a Nikon DSLR (D3400). I learned to shoot in manual and then took photography and videography courses along with several editing classes.
I quickly outgrew the capabilities of the starter camera and was able to move to a Sony Mirrorless (A7III) where I could capture more detail in a variety of light. This has become my primary camera, and I can be found shooting nature, events, skylines, streets, food, concerts, businesses, and, honestly, anything that is needed.

Most of my design samples in the following gallery were created on Canva for the District. The majority of the design experience is for websites and newsletters. Check out the links below to see the websites I have created or worked on and various MailChimp newsletters I have created.
I increased the average open rates of both Republic Square and the Downtown Austin Alliance newsletters by 10%.
